As the proud owner of six rescue dogs and a cat, former U.S. Navy and Citibank Cybersecurity Veteran and former member of the US Presidential White House staff, Pamela Fusco was imminently qualified to create ZuluTails, the newest disruptor in the pet id space. ZuluTails officially launched in December 2020 out of Fusco’s Buffalo, NY garage - or as she likes to call it, the “Paw Shop”. It’s still the central hub for all things ZuluTails - tag lasering, collar embroidering, shipping, team meetings and, of course, Friday night ‘yappy’ hour. The ZuluTails origin story began three years ago when Fusco’s beloved dog went missing. The pet was wearing outdated tags (the family had just relocated) and after spending hours posting flyers around town, the only calls Fusco got were from pranksters phishing for personal information. Fusco couldn’t believe there wasn’t an easy, reliable, and secure way to connect pets with their owners – without the need to share personal information. That’s when the idea for ZuluTails was hatched. As a cybersecurity expert and former Navy cryptologist (her day job is Chief Information Security Officer at cloud data leader Splunk, Inc.), Fusco’s criteria were twofold: to design a 24/7 on demand pet ID system that keeps pet owner’s personal information secure and is simple enough for her own 80-year-old mom to set up and use. ZuluTails delivers on all that and more. ZuluTails doesn’t need batteries, scanners or GPS. Contact information can be edited on the go, so even when you’re traveling you can rest assured that your pet will be protected. And ZuluTails doubles as an easy way for pet owners to manage their relationships with walkers, sitters, and groomers. A quick scan of a pet’s unique ZuluTails QR code (lasered on the tag) connects you instantly to the pet’s personal profile including name, breed, photo, and any medical conditions, and sends an alert to the pet’s owner in seconds. When Fusco isn’t hard at work making the world a safer place for humans – and their pets – she’s hitting the slopes at her local ski resort or cheering on her beloved New York Yankees.

I have always been a lover of pets. I grew up with pets my entire life so whenever I have come across a pet that appears to be lost, I always try to find its owner. Previously, I was involved with a beagle rescue in Maryland where my wife and I attended weekly adoption events to assist with finding their forever homes and nothing was more fulfilling than knowing I was part of that process. I have a background in accounting and information security, which serves me well in my role as Vice President of Operations. I ensure that our “Paw” Shop runs efficiently.

I have always believed that there is more to life than material possessions or personal gain. In my opinion, true fulfillment comes from working together to create something that will enrich others lives and contribute to the greater good. My life experiences have allowed me to meet and appreciate people from various backgrounds, cultures, and lifestyles. I have found that one commonality that brings most of the global population together … our love and dedication to pets. As someone who has lived with pets my entire life, I am genuinely thankful for the opportunity to be considered a founding member of the ZuluTails team. I have dedicated time to manufacturing, website development, and partnering with reputable animal organizations. I am blessed to be part of an organization that grants families a sense of security, fosters a supportive community and adds value to society.
